Chimera/cyclops Daughter plate with cooling duct
thingiverse
I designed an alternative Daughter plate for the Modular Carriage of my TEVO Black Widow, which was originally created by Elzariant. You can find Elzariant's design on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1829292. The original design is due to Elzariant, and I give them all the credit for both the system and the daughter plate. However, I modified the original design to fit a blower, testing several ducts and axial fans, but lacking sufficient pressure each time. To solve this issue, I added a duct system to cool the parts, resulting in decent airflow and a working design. I aimed to keep the design as compact as possible, which led me to create this alternative Daughter plate. The new design offers two versions: one with a closed duct that blows air around the nozzle and another version with an open side (resembling a "C" shape) that allows for easy extruder mounting. I printed the Daughter plate in PETG using 100% infill, a 0.4 mm nozzle, and a 2-wall thickness setting. Support material was necessary during printing.
