Childrens Water Jet Piano

Designed for outdoor use and constructed in 316 stainless steel. It consists of a piano with 11 keys linked by small diameter water pipes to 11 nozzles mounted on a separate "H-Frame". Mounted one meter above the nozzles are 11 tuned Tubular bells with their hammer mechanisms. When a key is pressed and released it sends a jet of water across the one meter gap to hit the hammer, thus striking the tubular bell and producing a musical note. I built and installed the prototype at Kirstenbosch botanical gardens for testing by kids. I designed it for a friend at no charge, who closed his business before it went into production. This was a very enjoyable and "different" challenge to undertake.
