Childproof latch for cabinet, door, drawer, window...

<p>If you got here, I can asume you child is researching every door, cabinet and drawer available in your home.</p> <p>That is the case of my 14 month daughter... A week ago, she opened the cabinet under the sink, got a brand new one litter bottle of olive oil, and dropped it in the kitchen floor...</p> <p>As if this were not enough, she tried to walk on the oil, slipping and covering all her clothes with this healthy ointment. Luckily she did not get hurt with the glass, so it was just funny (and a lot of work to get everything cleaned up).</p> <p>Because of this event, I designed this cabinet latch, based on a commercial one, and thought to be super easy to print and assemble.</p> <p>This <a href="https://youtu.be/lSb9RTeUKMY">this video</a> you can see it working.</p> <p>The only non printable thing you'll need are some screws <a href="http://savagemakers.com/woodscrews">like these</a>. I find them perfect to link 3D printed parts so I always try to use them. In this case, I used the M3, 10mm</p> <p>UPDATE 2018-02-23:</p> <p>Uploaded version 2, which has two screws, as the movable part ended up being not strong enough.</p> <p>The new part names are Fixed_v2.stl and Movable_v2.stl</p> <p>If you make any donation to help me keep working on my designs, as a sign of appreciation, I'll send you the fusion 360 files.</p> <h3>Print Settings</h3> <p><strong>Printer:</strong></p> <p>FLSun Mini Kossel</p> <p class="detail-setting rafts"><strong>Rafts: </strong> <div><p>No</p></div> <p><strong>Supports:</strong></p> <p>No</p> <p class="detail-setting resolution"><strong>Resolution: </strong> <div><p>0.2</p></div> <p><strong>Infill:</strong></p> <p>20%</p> <p><br/> <p class="detail-setting notes"><strong>Notes: </strong></p> </p><div><p>You can print it using any configuration you prefer as it´s a really easy job for any printer.</p> Usually you only need the**long.stl** and the**short.stl** things. <p>If you see the shape of the drawer/door/cabinet/window does not fit with any of those parts, you can pick between the extra parts I also attached.</p> <h3>Post-Printing</h3> <p><strong>How to install it</strong></p> <p>To install this latch, you will need 1 screw for the long movable part, and 2 for the fixed short one.</p> <p>If I can recommend something, buy some screws <a href="http://savagemakers.com/woodscrews">like these</a>, as they are really good to fix 3d printed parts toghether. They are for wood to, so this is what I used in this project.</p> <p>To unlock, use your finger to push the long part in.
