Child safety Door latch

Late one evening, our child kept us awake due to constant opening and closing of the kitchen cabinet doors. To address this issue, I had removed an obstacle meant for installing a baby gate on the stairs. Included is a picture (please pardon my lack of artistic skills). This particular latch takes advantage of the existing cabinet framework; however, I will create a block for situations where no frame exists.
