Child Safety Door Knob Cover - Modified for a Georgian Door Knob
thingiverse
I've got a quirky door knob that none of the CP covers fit, so I had to tweak Fritdiverdowns mod - talk about a mod of a mod! I'm checking out lowes.com to figure out what these vintage door knobs are called from the 1960s. It seems they have a few different names for the same thing, but "Georgian" is the most popular one, so that's what I'll go with. They work pretty well, and I can easily get through the door, but my daughter had a total meltdown when she couldn't... those terrible twos are no joke! Here's what I ended up doing: I downsized it to fit my knob height and width. I re-cut the hole for the handle since it shrunk too much (the original hole size was spot on). I raised the cutouts higher so an adult with big hands can easily stick their thumb and finger in to open the door.
