Horus, also known as Harseisis or HerusaAset (Isis's son), and Harpokrates or Herupakhered (the young Horus), was already a fierce warrior by the time he was an infant. Born to Isis and Osiris, who conceived him after his father's untimely death at Set's hands, Horus grew up in secret, training for battle against his arch-nemesis. As Herupakhred, he was depicted as a naked, smiling infant with one finger pressed to his lips, embodying both the royal heir and the newborn sun. In this iconic role, he was often shown alongside his mother Isis, mirroring the famous pose that would later become synonymous with the Virgin Mary and Jesus in Christian art.
