Chiesa San Pietro - Backside Facade (Tuscania - VT) San Pietro Church is a Romanesque and Gothic-style Roman Catholic church located just outside the town of Tuscania in the province of Viterbo, region of Lazio, Italy. Facade of the Church The façade boasts an impressive rose window adorned with mosaics, surrounded by the symbols of the four evangelists at each corner, and flanked by intricate reliefs featuring elaborate carvings of plants, a menagerie of animals, and complex iconography depicting saints and figures from the Old Testament. Below the façade lies a loggietta, while on the ground stands a sculpted main portal with a large rounded arch. The nave is flanked by rounded Romanesque arches leading to a presbytery featuring a Ciborium for the main altar. The presbytery boasts a geometric mosaic floor. The crypt features Gothic tracery.
