Chicken water nipple drip trough

I got tired of constantly replacing wet litter, so I designed this watering drip trough to make my life easier. It works fantastically. I used a quarter-inch ID reinforced PVC tubing like the kind found at The Home Depot, for example, https://thd.co/2UTTLQL, for the lines from a water bottle. Simply run hot water over the hose and the nipples thread directly into the end. The new and improved trough is a significant upgrade. I obtained rod clasps from mgx on Thingiverse, available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2932583. They function incredibly well. The unit is divided into two parts that slide together snugly. To print it without supports, I had to split it in two. The trough needed to be printed upright, and the clasps required printing on the bed because there's a captured part that moves. I also utilized a threaded barb for the drain and some rubber tubing from my garage. A small piece of dish scrubby was placed over the drain to prevent clogging. New Improved Drip Trough with Clasps and Drain: Printing Tips: 1. Align it lengthwise along the Y axis so it's stable during printing. 2. No supports are needed. 3. Use a 0.30 Draft resolution. 4. It took approximately eight hours to print on my Prusa i3 MK3s. Original Drip Trough: Printing Tips: 1. I printed this upright with a 3mm brim. 2. Align it lengthwise along the Y axis so it's stable during printing. 3. No supports are needed. 4. Use a 0.30 Draft resolution. 5. It took approximately five hours to print on my Prusa i3 MK3.
