<h1>Chicken nipple guard / clamp</h1> Having purchased some stainless steel chicken nipples as an automatic watering solution, I thought my job was done. That is until my birds routinely started knocking the internal components out from the nipples / gravity valves, causing their water source to leak everywhere. What is worse is that I had installed two of the ten nipples I purchased in a 1.5" ABS pipe and the internal components were helplessly cemented inside the pipe! 3D printing to the rescue! Here is a design that clasps on to the rear of the stainless steel chicken nipples that I purchased, preventing the internals from being pecked out and draining the water supply. FreeCAD (design parameters) spreadsheet setup: <ul> <li>User defined dimensions are highlighted with red.</li> <li>Computed values are marked in cyan.</li> <li>All values can be edited.</li> </ul> The design was done in FreeCAD and as mentioned it is fully parametric. I have included the FreeCAD file so that you can modify the design to your heart's content. I am open to any suggestions as to how to improve the design work-flow in FreeCAD.
