Printed directly onto a surface using a 3D printing method called Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM). The printer builds the object by extruding melted plastic through a heated nozzle that moves back and forth in an X-Y plane, creating a solid structure. Two parallel paths are printed on top of each other, followed by four layers built on both the top and bottom sides. Each layer is 0.17 millimeters thick, and the interior of the object contains 15% more material than the outer surface to provide additional strength. During printing, support structures are generated to prevent overhangs from sagging or collapsing.
