This project's got automatic chicken coop door DIY all over it. When printed on my printer, the lid's a snap fit. Using longitude and latitude to figure out sunset and sunrise is key with the arduino timelord library. It's used to open or close the door accordingly. Here are the components involved: Stepper motor takes control with Easy Driver board turning a threaded rod for ultimate torque and zero backpressure when opening the door. For keeping time, I'm relying on DS3231 RTC clock board, NRF24L01 board for monitoring remotely, lithium ion battery, 5V 0.175W solar cell and an energy-harvesting DIY pcb to charge li-ion battery during the day. To keep it all under control, I've got Arduino Pro Mini in the mix, with all components modified for use on a battery. For any additional info or source codes, send me a message!
