This older plane flies pretty well, but there are even better models available now. Check out my books, Functional Design for 3D Printing, and the Zombie Apocalypse Guide for tips on printing useful stuff faster and with fewer problems. For smaller print beds or fans of miniature planes, try these tiny gliders. They can achieve very long flights when launched with a rubber band or off a high surface. With practice, they're hand-launchable by holding between the wing and empanage. Edits include U2A, U2B, and U2C versions for more challenging prints with better performance and slow flight capabilities. Ensure your printer can print smooth, 1- and 2-layer .15mm prints and follow specific layer height instructions for optimal results. Adjust fit and glue carefully for perfect symmetry and performance. Use ABS and a .155 layer height with a .5 first layer height and 2 perimeters, 2 solid layers, and 30% rectilinear fill. For the launcher, use 3 perimeters, 2 solid layers, and scale it to your preference. Safety glasses are recommended for rubber band launches, and adjust wing dihedral and elevators for stable flight. Add weight aft of the hook for more stability or longer flights if needed. Experiment with different materials and layer heights, and share your results!
