Chick Waterer
thingiverse
For use with chickens, ducks, and other small birds that peck at food. Not suggested for ostriches or emus, which have strong beaks and sharp talons. To assemble this feeder, simply repurpose a PET water bottle. The water level can be adjusted by loosening the cap to decrease it or removing the cap to increase it. Most one-liter bottles, as well as smaller ones, should fit snugly, but some minor adjustments may be necessary to the cap holder's height using the provided scad file. Alternatively, use spacer rings to fine-tune the height. The water channel is designed with a rectangular cross-section to ensure that all liquids can flow smoothly through it. Some polymers don't wet well and won't conduct water in small channels, so this design prevents clogging. A closed tube or open top U-shaped channel will completely stop the flow of water. To prevent birds from climbing up the shield, it's designed with a spherical shape that protects against scratching and scattering bedding into the cup. To keep this feeder clean, simply rinse it under running tap water in your kitchen sink.
