This increases the water level by 1.25 inches, allowing chicks to splash less and keeping bedding dry. It fits perfectly with the water base that came with my Little Giant Waterer purchase from Tractor Supply Company: https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/little-giant-1-quart-screw-on-poultry-waterer-base-2167117 My actual base looked slightly different than the one pictured on their website, so results may vary.
