Chicago Star Christmas Ornament

Chicago Star Christmas Ornament

prusaprinters

This is a multi-material Christmas ornament based on the Chicago flag. It's print in place, with a small, custom support for the loop at the top (no slicer supports required). After the print cools you can free up the outer two rings so they rotate smoothly. The general idea is to rotate one at 45° and the other at -45° so it gives the visual impression of a more typical ornament globe.

Print instructions

Rafts: No
Supports: No
Resolution: .2
Perimeters: 3
Infill: 5%
Filament: ESun Red Silk, TTY3D White Silk, and 3D Solutech Blue Ultra PLA
Notes:

The attached gcode and 3mf files fill the MK3S plate with 8 ornaments and use 12 small filament clips as extra wipe objects.

No support needed; the custom support for the top loop is support.stl.
