Brian J. Pierce set a new tallest print record on July 12th, 2010, using a modified Google Sketchup model of Willis Tower. The model stands 155mm tall; however, his MakerBot-printed version measured about 154mm. Despite being hacked, the bot used mostly original parts and printed components to achieve this milestone. Printing took an hour and ten minutes, using 19cc of ABS material. The source file can be found at thingiverse.com/thing:3533, and his MakerBot holds the number 1034. In real-life terms, the Willis Tower's height is 136mm without its antennae. A word of caution: do not attempt to print this model at its original scale if your printer's z-axis height isn't sufficient.
