The first incarnation of our Wedobots mascot, ChiBot, was created through a custom-made machine that utilized PLA at 0.2mm layer height. Most components were printed without support, except for the antennas, on an unheated polycarbonate bed. It took less than an hour to prepare all parts, but further tuning is still necessary! The body measures approximately 20mm in each dimension (3/4 inch), while the head is slightly larger. Separate prints of each component were assembled as shown in the photo. A larger print size (2X) might reduce artifacts, but would significantly increase printing time. To create ChiBot, you will need to print one part for the head and body, along with two parts for the arms and antennas. You may need to rotate the components for optimal printing results, as the head and body were printed rotated to minimize material usage.
