Chibi Rogue Discovers the Meaning of Life

I'm getting close, but maybe not exactly right? I tweaked it from the first attempt. I was aiming for an aesthetic like a GameCube game because I love that style and would love to create something similar for my Adventure/Roguelike project in the works. The subdivided look really appealed to me... Then I started thinking about adding more details or elements. I still really like the solid shading effect, and I'm considering using segmented body parts for my characters... But I'm not sure if that's working well, so I'll post an example and appreciate any feedback on whether it looks good or not. I also came up with a little ambient soundtrack to go along with this.
