Chibi Clip Traffic Light

Chibi Clip Traffic Light

This traffic light model accommodates six 5mm LEDs and can be connected to work with the Chibi Clip, a programmable circuit board available at Chibitronics.com. The chip clips onto the model, and after programming, it will operate the lights. Students can program the Chibi Chip using block or text code, as described on chibitronics.com. This allows for various challenges, from a simple flashing yellow light to full operation of all six lights on two sides. The base is intentionally offset to account for the weight of the Chibi Clip when attached. You should insert something inside after installing the lights to prevent internal light bleeding, as this can make an LED appear to be on even when it's off. A rolled-up tissue works fine, but any opaque material will do. A video demo featuring a wiring diagram is available at https://youtu.be/EgFf5kdE60M
