In the STL file, you'll see the body and a cap. The cap is separate because supporting the roof on a hollow tube without additional material can be challenging. After printing, attach the cap to the body using epoxy adhesive, which dries in just five minutes. This allows for some adjustment before it sets. Wait a few hours for the cap to fully secure onto the body. Once closed at both ends, play the mouth hole in the middle and hold the flute from below with your hands. Chi (Chi) is a Chinese court music instrument used since the Zhou dynasty. The earliest known example of this instrument was discovered in the Tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng built around 433 BC. Unlike most flutes, the mouth hole is located between the middle or one third of the pipe, while your hands hold it from below. Another unique feature is that the pipe is closed at both ends. Chinese flautist Zhao Song-ting (Zhao Song-ting) reconstructed this instrument in the 20th century and composed a piece for it. A replica of this instrument can be found in Confucius temple in Taipei, Taiwan. This experiment aims to understand the acoustic properties and measurements of the instrument. The relationship between fingering and pitch on this instrument is quite unpredictable. It appears that the two sides of the tube compete to produce sound, and only one side will actually produce a note when you blow air through it. The position of the holes seems to have less effect on pitch than their size does. I've included the fingering chart in the link below for anyone with knowledge in acoustics who can help explain the relationship between fingering and pitch. You can adjust the pitch by slightly altering the blowing angle, rolling your lips outward or inward a little bit, or using half holes.
