Chevy S-10 Hood Prop Rod Clip
thingiverse
This is a clip used to hold the hood prop rod on a 2001 Chevy S-10. Other year models with the same body style should be the same, so match the pic of the clip to confirm. I used PETG, printed at .2 mm and needed some supports for the tab and wings that hold the clip into the radiator support. There are two openings in the radiator support: one is a slot and the other is a hole. The tab on the end fits snugly into the slot, while the wings snap into the hole with ease. A little push towards the slot helps since the tip of the wing barely clears the edge of the hole. You can use sandpaper to round off the edges or give it a gentle nudge and it should pop in perfectly. The prop rod fits nicely in the clip without needing much force to engage/disengage it. If I had made it too tight, the clip would flex too much and snap under pressure. I printed this on its back with the rod opening facing up, which is how you should print the model as well. Printing any other way may not allow the little wings of the clip to be printed correctly. It's only been tested for a few days, but it seems to be doing great, especially in colder weather like 25 degrees Fahrenheit. Try it out and let me know if it needs some rework.
