Chevy LS3 Engine Crate
thingiverse
The 3D printed LS3 engine crate is crafted to accompany the functioning Chevy LS3 Engine model created by ericthepoolboy on thingiverse.com. Designed for printing on a 200mm by 200mm printer, this crate requires some planks to be stood upright and rotated by 45 degrees to fit within its small dimensions. The crate assembles into three parts: the base that holds the engine, the four-sided box which can be lifted, and the removable top. Each of the main assemblies is connected by identical magnet disc pairs found in the LS3 engine design. All printed planks are intended to be bolted together using M3 socket head screws. I printed my option 2 design with two shades of wood-colored PLA. See the assembly instructions PDF in the file download for information on printing and assembly.
