This mount is designed specifically for an iPhone 8 Plus, including a thin case. By design, this mount holds the phone upside down with the lightning port facing upwards, keeping it out of the way while using Apple CarPlay. I installed the mount vertically in front of my GMC Canyon's shifter using 3M automotive tape (see photos).
