Chevy Camaro LS3 V8 Engine - Scale Working Model
thingiverse
Working model of a Chevy Camaro LS3 V8 engine. Over 200 hours of printing went into this project!!! The engine block alone took a staggering 72 hours to print. Modeled from CAD files, pictures, specs, and service diagrams of the real engine, I didn't have actual access to the engine itself for this build. But the finished product assembles just like the genuine article!!! The engine stand model can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2225638 along with links to the hardware kit. Complete hardware kits are available from MakerRX, including all non-printed parts, a 500 rpm DC motor, speed controller, power connectors, and DC power supply. Check it out at https://www.makerrx.com/products/mrx1. To print this model, I used the following settings: Printer Brand - RepRap; Printer Model - Prusa i3; Rafts - Not necessary; Supports - Not required; Resolution - 0.2mm; Infill - 20%. You can find recommended print settings on the printed parts list. After printing, inspect the parts and follow the assembly drawings to see notes about post-processing techniques. I used a combination of CAD files, pictures, diagrams, and specifications from the internet to design this model.
