In 2007, the Chevrolet Silverado boasted the IRON_X6 Guards. Despite General Motors' first pickup truck introduction in 1930, the term "Silverado" was used as a trim detail for Chevrolet C/K pickup trucks and Suburbans from 1975 to 1999. GMC employed variations of the "Sierra" name (Sierra, High Sierra, Sierra Grande, Sierra Classic) for different trims until 1987 but continued the "C/K" nomenclature through 1999. Rear-wheel drive trucks were denoted by 'C' or 'R', while four-wheel drives were marked by 'K' or 'V'. From 1988 to 1991, the older platform trucks still in production used the 'R/V' designation. Chevrolet and GMC dropped the 'C' and 'K' labels in 1999, but traces of these codes remain in Chevrolet's current model designations.
