Chevette

Ladies and gentlemen, behold the 1982 Chevrolet Chevette! I opted to create this model after deciding to learn Blender and needed some inspiration. My first car was a 1982 Chevette, so it seemed like the perfect choice. This isn't a bad car at all - in fact, it has a lot of character. However, this post is not about the car itself; let's focus on the model instead. I set out to build an accurate replica of the Chevette 5-door hatchback using only old photographs, my own nostalgic memories, and plenty of vertex manipulation in Blender. I hope you find it enjoyable. Incidentally, the Chevette remained largely unchanged from the late 1970s until around 1983, so this model essentially represents that period. It was also sold under the Pontiac brand as the T-1000, with the main difference being the grill logo (and badging, which my model doesn't feature). You can learn more about the Chevrolet Chevette on Wikipedia. **Update 03/24/18:** I made some slight modifications to the model to improve printability and aesthetics, while also adding a "matchbox" version with a simplified design and half the size. **Update 04/06/18:** I made a few further tweaks to better match the actual car.
