Unwrapped Chest - Assignment 3 by Lee This assignment was a thrilling challenge that pushed my creative boundaries to new heights. I had always been fascinated by the concept of an unwrapped chest, and this project gave me the perfect opportunity to explore it in depth. The first step was to brainstorm ideas for what could be inside the chest. I wanted something unique and exciting, so I decided on a futuristic time machine. This would allow the user to travel back in time and experience historical events firsthand. Next, I had to design the chest itself. I opted for a sleek and modern look, with a metallic exterior that gave it an otherworldly feel. The lid was designed to be easily removable, revealing a compact but functional interior. Once I had the basic design down, I started thinking about the user experience. How would someone interact with this time machine? What features would they need to navigate through different eras? I decided on a simple yet intuitive interface that would allow users to input their desired destination and travel back in time. One of the most exciting aspects of this project was the opportunity to experiment with new materials and technologies. I used a combination of 3D printing and laser cutting to create the chest's intricate details, such as the control panel and the time machine's core components. As I worked on the assignment, I encountered several challenges that forced me to think creatively. For example, I had to find a way to power the time machine without compromising its compact size. I ultimately decided on a high-energy battery that would last for several hours of continuous use. In addition to the technical aspects, I also focused on making the user experience as smooth and seamless as possible. I designed the interface to be easy to navigate, with clear instructions and concise feedback. This way, users could focus on enjoying their journey through time rather than struggling with the technology. Overall, working on this assignment was an exhilarating experience that allowed me to push my skills to new heights. It was a true challenge, but one that ultimately led to some amazing results.
