Let's play Chesso, a modern twist on the classic game. We're turning the old skool game into a fun way to recycle! Chesso is now available as a 3D printing project. Take your recycling skills outside for a walk and collect discarded soda cans. Clean them up or use 32 empty Red Bull cans that you and your friends, family, or others have emptied. You can even use colorful cans like 16 Fanta orange cans for one player and 16 Chocomel cans for the other player. To create the game pieces, print all the parts and connect them to the cans. For example, you can print the Fanta can parts with orange filament and the Chocomel can parts with yellow filament. But feel free to get creative! I've also designed a second pawn with a small hole for a straw, so you can take a refreshing drink while playing on hot days or when you need a break. Simply maneuver the pawn over the drinking hole in the soda can, insert a straw, and enjoy! Once you're done, gather your kids, family, or even Gary Kasparov to play this fun game together. You can set up a board in a park, campsite, schoolyard, or indoors using cardboard, paint, or chalk. Make it more exciting by printing your own custom-made chessboard from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1955224 (Thanks to Mike Neilson). Who says chess is boring? Play Chesso and learn valuable skills like thinking critically, being patient, and being logical. Here are the parts you'll need: * 32 soda cans (250 ml) * 3D print: + 8 pawns (black and white) with top and bottom parts + 2 rooks (black and white) with top and bottom parts + 2 horses (black and white) with top and bottom parts + 2 bishops (black and white) with top and bottom parts + 1 king (black and white) with top and bottom parts + 1 queen (black and white) with top and bottom parts Tip: To save printing time, you can print only the top parts. To prevent the cans from tipping over, fill them with water or sand. Thanks to Fred Genius for helping me design with Fusion 360, and Ellen Novara-da Lima for redesigning and creating the Chesso logo. Have fun playing! Greetz Martijn
