Chess Set - Profiles - Mk1

pinshape

This is my first installment of profiles chess piece designs, where I experiment with what can be taken away from the standard Stanford pieces while still retaining their easily recognizable identity. My goal was to craft lines that feel more organic than my past sets. Like my other creations, this set is designed to be played, so while aesthetic elements are crucial, it's equally essential that each piece is distinctive enough in appearance to be instantly identifiable. The pieces are also designed for easy gripping between two fingers when playing. The King stands at approximately 4 inches tall and measures 1 3/4 inches at its base. To achieve the desired level of detail, I recommend printing with two shells and 18% infill on their sides. A full set of 32 pieces will require around 20 hours to print. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I did creating them.
