This design started as a cubic chess set, crafted from a single wood piece measuring 6 inches by 4 inches by 1 inch, designed to fit snugly inside a box that's twice its size. In OpenSCAD, adding decorative elements became a breeze, but there was still room for more creativity. The rook could be topped with a turret using the difference() function, making it stand out. Meanwhile, the knights and pawns remain relatively understated, offering plenty of opportunities for embellishment.
