As a third-year student of industrial design at Hadassa College in Jerusalem, my project tackles the issue of waste generated by 3D printing failures. Instead of disposing of faulty prints, I propose designing multi-purpose models that can be printed simultaneously. For example, I created a set of chess pieces designed in Solidworks to be printed in six levels - pawn, rook, knight, bishop, queen, and king. If the printing process fails at any level, an alternative piece is produced. Users can also stop the print at any stage to obtain their desired tool from the set. This eco-friendly approach reduces waste and offers flexibility. I welcome suggestions for further project development.
