To create a chess set template, you'll want to design 16 distinct pieces for both sides: black and white. Each side needs a King and a Queen, as well as an assortment of eight more special pieces, including four different kinds of minor pieces: Bishops and Rooks, and two smaller pieces known as Knights. Additionally, there are the basic Pawns, of which you'll need to produce 16 for a complete chess set.
