Chess-Rook Container
myminifactory
I created this design because I wanted a container that perfectly fits chess figures inside it. To maintain the theme, I decided to shape it like a rook with a removable top part that can be screwed on and off. The top section doesn't require any supports if your printer has decent bridging capabilities, although it's not necessary for them to be extremely good either. I intentionally set the thread tolerances so that most 3D printers should be able to handle them without any issues. However, it's possible that they might not screw together smoothly at first. In this case, you'll need to "break them in" by repeatedly screwing and unscrewing the parts until they fit smoothly. You can also apply a small amount of dry grease or silicone lube to help the process along. I designed the threads to be snug, but not sloppy, so don't worry if it takes a few attempts to get them working properly – it will come with time.
