Chess medal inlay
thingiverse
My two sons regularly participate in exciting chess matches. Not every match ends with them earning a medal (or cup), but we encourage them to keep playing by awarding medals ourselves after each match. To make the rewards more appealing, I decided to create intricate inlays from actual chess pieces. Using OpenSCAD and the designs available on thingiverse.com (thing:585218), I crafted the rook inlay first. I used my RepRap printer, specifically a Hesine model, for this project. Here are the print settings I employed: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer Model: Hesine Raft: No Supports: No Resolution: Nozzle .4, Z .2 Infill: 100%
