Chess Board (Makruk Thai-Style)

Our newly created Makruk Thai chess pieces needed a matching board, so we designed this large game board with squares measuring 50x50mm. Traditional Thai chess boards feature monochrome designs, but you could easily print contrasting or alternating squares for your board. You can find our Makruk Thai chess pieces on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3272005 #Printing & Post-Printing This design demands extensive friction welding. Check out our comprehensive tutorial on friction welding at: https://appliedtechnologylab.blogspot.com/2018/06/3d-printing-tutorial-friction-welding.html To add extra weight, we combine the board's top and bottom halves, fill both with a concrete mixture, then weld them together. The interior of the board offers ample space for adding LEDs or other components, but this will require modifications to the 3D file or drilling. Examine the file names of the parts to print carefully. If a file name includes an "x" followed by a number, you must print that file multiple times according to the specified quantity. If no number is present, simply print the file once. We are still printing our board and will update this post with photos and assembly instructions when we complete it.
