This is a 2" x 2" square with interlocking tabs, a border with slots and a filler cap piece. This was made with the Runsys Egyptian Chess Set. Print 32 squares for each color, 4 border pieces and 4 caps. Place the first square, rotate the next square 90° with the alternate color so that the tabs from one can clamp into the holes on the next. Start the next row with the other color. The borders expect the first row to start with the tabs horizontally (just look at the border to see which way comes first). If you want a different border, you could always saw off the outside tabs and inset it into something like a wooden frame. Since it wasn't dimensionally perfect there was a slight gap in the middle of my borders so I made the cap piece to fit. The cap has an embossed image of the Left Eye of Osiris. The borders will likely need a large print bed if you're going to print it flat (I have an Artillery Sidewinder). The parts go together with a tight fit. They can take some pressure. To get them to snap together, I fitted them as best I could with my hands and then used my foot on the floor to apply a little more pressure. I put them together one by one but it's probably easier to make an entire row and attach it to the previous rows.
