This chess set is designed for a battle between natural versus synthetic materials, where 16 pieces are printed by a ceramic 3D printer and 16 by a plastic one. If the ceramic printer produces imperfect results, it's all the better – the more unique and natural the ceramic pieces appear, the more authentic the experience will be. To bring this concept to life, you'll need additional equipment like a kiln for firing the ceramic pieces and glaze for finishing them off. A Glowforge is also required to burn in the design on the board itself, allowing you to use your own design if you don't have access to the necessary tools.
