Chess Board

thingiverse

You'll need three files to build the chess board. To start, print these 3D models: * 32 Chess Board Squares in color A - Each square measures 35mm wide by 40mm long. * 32 Chess Board Squares in color B - These squares are also 35mm x 40mm. * 2 Chess Board Rails (Male) - The length of these rails is 296mm, and they come in any color you prefer. * 2 Chess Board Rails (Female) - You can choose the color for these rails too; each one measures 296mm long. Before printing all the pieces, it's a good idea to print one or two first. This will give you an idea if everything fits together properly. If your 3D prints have "elephant's foot," you might need to trim the dovetail joints. Printing a piece in color A and another in color B, along with one of each rail type, is a good test. I printed up to 27 squares at once on my Creality CR-10, but I did this after printing a few pieces for testing. The final board should fit together nicely, and it's sturdy enough to carry vertically. However, if you move the completed board horizontally, it will be a bit floppy. To avoid this, always carry it upright.
