Cheshire Tree

In my SolidWorks experiment, I attempted to create a tree with intricate random branching. To achieve this organic appearance, I opted for an arduous method involving lofted branches and 3D sketched splines as centerlines. However, this approach proved challenging; it was labor-intensive and the software struggled to handle the complexity as more branches were added. Consequently, previous lofts would fail with each new addition. It's possible that a different approach to the loft centerlines could have yielded better results, but redoing the entire design would be time-consuming. So, I decided to present the tree as a sparsely branched, leafless version, inspired by nature's geometry. For my next attempt, I will utilize patterning and straighter branches, as observed in successful designs by others. This experience serves as a testament to Mother Nature's superior geometric capabilities.
