Cheshire Collimatinator 1.25" Focuser
thingiverse
Here's a DIY Cheshire collimator to align the mirrors in your Newtonian telescope. I'm a beginner hobby astronomer and needed to collimate my telescope, so I decided not to buy one and wait for it to be delivered. Instead, I thought, "I have a 3D printer, I should be able to make one..." After searching Thingiverse for something to do the job but not being happy with the offerings I found, I decided to model my own. When you print the target, make sure your settings are set to print at actual size, 100% scale, or however it's worded on your printer settings. Cut it out carefully and use an X-Acto knife or something similar to cut out the hole in the middle. I glued mine in place using ordinary glue stick.
