Cherry Switch Extender for Filament Runout

Cherry Switch Extender for Filament Runout

I've spent a lot of time working on Mame projects, and as a result, I have a collection of buttons, joysticks, and other components leftover from those endeavors. Each one uses cherry switches to detect direction or button presses. Given that I had so many of these parts, I didn't want to go out and buy additional momentary contact switches just to make a filament runout sensor, but the plastic piece that presses the switch is far too short to be effective with filament. This design addresses that issue by providing a longer plastic piece that can interface with filament and serve as a reliable filament runout sensor. To print these pieces properly, I had to create two of them for optimal cooling performance. I paired this design with another project found on Thingiverse: 2842127.
