Designing a Simple Dampener Ring to Reduce Bottom-Out Noise in Keyboards with Cherry MX Switches. Frustrated with the high cost, awkward shape, and unpleasant feel of WASD O-ring based switch dampers, I decided to create my own solution using a square profile and larger inner diameter for easier sliding. I printed 80 units at once using TPU material, which proved to be highly effective in reducing noise on my HyperX Alloy FPS Pro keyboard.
