Cheese Press, St. Patrick's Chapel
sketchfab
This massive stone slab once served as a weight in a cheese-making press. Parallel grooves on opposite sides reveal where it was carved to fit snugly into the press, allowing it to be easily lowered and raised onto the cheese being processed. Since its days as a humble cheese press weight, the stone has been transformed with an array of vibrant graffiti and inscriptions covering its surface. Today, it proudly stands as part of the partially restored St. Patrick's Chapel in Heysham, Lancashire. This 3D model was meticulously recorded by volunteers from the Lancashire and District Heritage Group working in collaboration with CITiZAN, a project launched in 2018.
