Cheeky Tiki

Cheeky Tiki

Sometimes you want your Mai Tai to sass back at you. This mischievous little guy is up for a challenge. I crafted this cheeky figurine as a practice sculpture in 3D Coat, and it turned out so well that I created several variations on the theme. The print was done in transparent PLA, which is what the machine happened to be loaded with at the time. To give it some extra flair, I painted it with rust-colored primer and glossy black acrylic paint. Since the model is a solid object, if you want to create a hollow mug, make sure to set your infill percentage and top layer settings to zero before printing. We discussed this very project and many other 3D printing topics on the latest episode of the 3D Printing Today podcast, which can be found on iTunes, Stitcher radio, or by visiting our website directly at http://threedprintingtoday.libsyn.com/.
