Checkerboard Box
thingiverse
To create a checkerboard game, I designed an 11.5x11.5-inch board on Adobe and used www.boxmake.rahulbotics.com for a matching 3-inch deep box. The box's puzzle-like edges required flattening the top edge to accommodate the checkerboard. Next, I measured hinge placements and drilled holes for medium hinges. To assemble the pieces, I used Adobe to create 1.3-inch circles for 32 unengraved and eight engraved (with crowns) game pieces. All designs were printed on 3mm acrylic with Epilog Laser at specific settings. Finally, I glued and fastened the hinges using screws, nuts, washers, and bolts to complete the checkerboard box.
