Upcycle your old fabric-softener sheets from the dryer into a high-tech Neato Robotics vacuum cleaner attachment! I'm not claiming that this clever hack is as efficient as the genuine article from Neato, probably it's not even HEPA-grade. Nevertheless, all it costs is roughly a yard of 3D printing filament and something you'd normally throw in the trash, making me declare it "cHEaPA!" You'll find an alternate file called neato_filter_w-tabs.stl which tries to add snap-in tabs for added security, but I still need to iron out the kinks with that particular design. Print this 3D model, then carefully fold it in half over a discarded fabric-softener sheet. Cut the edges of the sheet flush with the frame and attach it securely using glue. I'm experimenting with ways to get these pieces to snap together effortlessly, but for now, I'm relying on good old-fashioned adhesive to keep everything stuck in place – at least until something better comes along!
