Cheap rounded Gamecube controller dock for Nintendo Switch

<p>Inspired by a guy I saw on youtube. I liked the concept, but I personally feel he made an over complicated version, and was trying to sell the design. With how many designs I've gotten from other people, I prefer to feed back into the 3D printing community, and decided to take a few minutes to make my own. So here it is, free of charge and designed be about as easy as possible to print.</p> <p>The little arms that hold the Switch Dock down do touch the switch on the VERY ends, like 1-1.5mm, but I haven't had any issues with my switch docking properly.</p> <p>I designed it to have mostly the same depth and length so it would still seat in a dock-dock I made for the top of my TV, but it's only holding the outer 2cm so the protrusion in the middle doesn't interfere.</p> <h3> Print Settings</h3> <p><strong>Printer:</strong></p> <p>Qidi</p> <p><p class="detail-setting rafts"><strong>Rafts: </strong> <div><p>No</p></div><strong>Supports:</strong></p> <p>No</p> <p><p class="detail-setting resolution"><strong>Resolution: </strong> <div><p>Your choice, mine is .3 and pretty rough</p></div><strong>Infill:</strong></p> <p>I print with 3 shells and 10% infill</p> <h3> <strong>Filament:</strong> Twas a gift, idk PLA dark pink <br/> <p class="detail-setting notes"><strong>Notes: </strong> </p><div><p>Just make sure to print it face down, I didn't position it that way so the model would show how it looks when sitting normally. This allows the overhangs to print without supports and gives the front a very clean surface.</p></div> How I Designed This</h3> <p><strong>Analogs!!!</strong></p> <div><p>I just took a couple measurements, extruded analogs for the adapter/dock to shape, made a rectangular prism the same width/depth as the dock, positioned everything, and removed what I didn't want. Extruded sections for the arms and angled bits out for the retainers, that was it.</p></div></p></p> Category: Electronics
