Cheap microscope stand with adjustable table / stage

I've upgraded the classic design for a budget-friendly microscope stand by adding an adjustable table (stage) that can slide on X and Y axes using identical pinion and rack systems. Approximately 20 millimeters of sliding space is available on each axis for the table. The table supports standard glass slides measuring 25x75 mm. Beneath the table, there's a compartment where an LED chip can be installed to provide additional illumination. To enhance stability, I recommend securing the scope base with clamps or attaching a heavy steel plate to the bottom. Additionally, lubricate the rack and pinion mechanisms for smooth operation.
