Cheap Drill Battery 2.0
thingiverse
Hi, This battery pack is specifically designed for those low-cost drills manufactured between 2003 and 2015. Several brands such as Einhell, Defort, Ferm, Challenge, Amtech, ProUser, Speedway, Workzone, Power-G, Boston, Draper, XU1, Trades Pro, and Top Craft likely produced or rebranded these drills. You can view images of the original design on its page. This project is a revised version of my first affordable drill battery pack. After creating and testing my initial battery, I found it to be somewhat heavy and the parallel setup was too much for my drills. It could run indefinitely without needing a recharge. I decided that using five 18650 cells with more voltage (4.2 x 5 = ~20) would be a better option, eliminating the need for cells in parallel. This new design uses the available space more efficiently, is significantly smaller, and provides a lot more power to the drill. It has room for five cells and features the same fitting on top. Interestingly, my design can support six cells as well (an unintended feature). I've already tested it with my drills, and they seem to handle the added voltage fine, but caution is still advised. The 25.2V output is quite a lot of power for these budget-friendly drills.
