I purchased the affordable car clock from eBay, which comes with a decent clip that can be attached to the vent, but the base designed for use with a sticky pad is severely undersized. The included stand fits snugly into the back of the clock, replacing the original one and offering a 20mm x 40mm surface area that allows for secure attachment using double-sided foam tape directly to the dashboard.
